Flowers

Flowers

I seen these, adorable flowers, on Facebook.  These little tarts are so easy to make.  Cut out the refrigerator, pie dough, using a flower cookie cutter.  Press them into mini muffin tins, back until light brown, cool, fill with lemon pie filling, and sprinkle powder sugar on the pedals.  This idea leads to all type of little tarts.

Challenging

Challenging

This one was hard...lots of words came out of my mouth.   I remember one of my students saying, "Just walk away," during  a  scientific glass blowing class.  It was getting a little frustrating, so need a break.  I had to take a couple of days, break from this one.
This is the Cat Wheel Loader.  I am very impressed by the detail of these models.

Finally, to try a simple painting, using my new brushes, from Artistrove.   I painted the columbines on a sketch pad from the dollar store.  I'm saving the good water color paper, once I get it down.

Blending

Blending

My new water brushes took a little getting used to.  I'm learning to control the water flow...helps to have the lid on tight..ha ha!  I practiced, double-loading my brush and adding more colors in spots.  Love these brushes!  They are great for traveling.  This was painted on card stock.

Four Gentlemen

Four Gentlemen

Trying our my new water color brushes.  They took a little getting used to.  If you squeezed too much, the water would run too much.   I tried them out on the first Gentlemen...bamboo.

Brushes

I had won some watercolor brushes from Artistrove.  The handles holds water, so you don't have to dip you brush in water, then in the pigment.

Motif

Motif

The next pattern, in Sumi's book, was this adorable motif.  It's about the size of a quarter.  When I first saw the pattern, I saw a cross in the middle, then four hearts and a rose on the outside.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter

My wonderful neighbor, Jan, made me this awesome bunny Easter Card.  She uses, fine, embroidery, sewing thread to make the hand-stitched designs.

I had gotten one from her, to send to my Mom.
